Pray To Allah To Heal Our Ailing Economy

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome/Kwabenya, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, has admonished the Muslim community to use the period of Ramadan to pray to Allah to heal the countrys ailing economy. According to her, the present economic situation as highlighted by the Finance Minister, Seth Terpker, in his supplementary budget presented to Parliament for approval, was a clear testimony that only a miracle from Allah would turn around the dwindling fortunes of the country. She said the leadership in whose care the management of the economy has been entrusted has lost focus and prayed to the Muslim community to also remember them in their prayers as they bring the thirty-day fasting and prayers to a close. The Dome/Kwabenya legislator made this observation last Monday when she donated some items worth thousands of Cedis to the Imams within her constituency as part of her annual contribution to the Muslim community during such events. Among the donated items included forty bags of rice, ten bags of sugar. The gesture, the MP noted, was from her own coffers as her share of the MPs Common Fund has not been forthcoming in recent months. A representative of the Imams within the Dome/Kwabenya constituency, Shaibu Issah, who received the items, thanked Ms. Safo for her generosity and prayed to Allah to bless and grant her good health to pursue her vision for the constituency and the country at large. He said the items would help put a smile on the faces of the needy Muslim brothers and sisters as they bring the period of fasting and prayers to an end.
