The Head Pastor of last stop prayer ministry at Kasoa Broadcasting, Julius Attarchie is suggesting to the first gentleman of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama to give some of the cabinet ministerial appointments to pastors. Prophet Attarchie contested that when pastors are given ministerial appointments, especially, cabinet ministers, it would go a long way to help the president mitigate corruption in the government and find favour from God. �This country will only progress when we have men of God, such as pastors and prophets to be part of the executive�s arm of government, because they will stop all forms of corruption which is an enemy of economic development and prosperity,� he professed. Prophet Julius Attarchie jabbed critics who are saying that it is not pleasant for a pastor to involve him or herself in politics to read Genesis chapter 41 verses 40 downwards and they will find out that when Pharaoh, King of Egypt realized that there will be famine, he appointed Joseph who was a man of God to be the Minister of Agriculture. �You see, people do not learn, they just make unnecessary arguments, I am referring those who are saying pastors should not do politics to go and study their Bible very well and they will find out that the Bible talks about the time that priest were part of kings cabinet, giving advice as to how to manage their subjects,� he explained. He advised Ghanaians not to criticize when a pastor speaks about matters affecting the country because when Jeremiah spoke and the Israelite did not listen, they ended up in the land of Babylon where they were tormented. According to him, Ghana Anthem says �God Our Homeland Ghana� and since pastors are the representatives of Ghana, he will be happy when one day a Pastor becomes a president so that this nation will be blessed. The pastor again advocated the establishment of the ministry of religious affairs to spearhead and champion the course of the religious bodies and come out with the ethics for Pastors and Prophets as the ministry of chieftaincy has come out with the code of ethics for chiefs and Queens. �There is no sanity in Christianity, every Pastor does and says what he pleases, but if there is such a ministry which can come with code of ethics for churches, I think it will bring discipline in the work of God and the society as a whole,� he stressed. The man of God admitted that there is in existence Christian Council and other religious groups, but added that all those bodies have no teeth to bite because their activities are not backed by any strict laws which will compel every Pastor and Prophet to join. �Now we have Christian Council which is supposed to fish out and sanctioned those miscreant pastors, but the council is handicapped because its activities are not backed by any legislative instrument so they give only advice which the person can decide to take or not to take,� he claimed. He cited Saudi Arabia that aside its ministry of Hajj, there is another ministry called ministry Affairs which is in charge of matters related to Islam, consider Islamic issues, and cooperate with the Islamic Societies to help Muslims worship Allah according to the Qur'an. Therefore, according to him it is high time government instituted a ministry which will be in charge of matters related to Christianity. He appealed to the president to give ear to the cry of the suffering masses because he is of the view that the voice of the people is the voice of God.
