The Church Building Still Relevant

Pastor Dr. Kwabena Donkor, an international preacher of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, has appealed to Christians not to adhere to emerging doctrines that seek to devalue church buildings as a sanctuary for worshippers. He said church buildings provided physical roof over the heads of people who would want to fellowship and therefore where resource are available, it should be provided to deepen its symbolism to the body of Christ. Pastor Dr Donkor, who made this call when he dedicated the new Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tema Community 12, said the church building was not a museum piece. He said churchless Christianity was now becoming part and parcel of Western societies and urged the African communion to uphold the time tested tradition of congregating to worship God adding that the presence of God's strength and power is felt when we stand as a united community. He said the reason to celebrate in the presence of God was for physical and spiritual satisfaction which Christians carry along as memories held by chapels and houses of worship. Pastor Dr Donkor appealed to Ghanaians to wear a positive mindset adding that Christians, especially those who are in national leadership, to exhibit their faith, resourcefulness and dedication to make life better for all. He urged all Ghanaians to know that the service they render to God cannot be separated from the service they render to mankind.
