Ohene Ntow Exhibiting Double Standards NPP MP

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Bosomtwi, Simon Osei Mensah is questioning the basis upon which former General Secretary, Nana Ohene Ntow is describing the brazen support Nana Akufo-Addo by MPs as an infringement of the partys constitution. According to him, there is no law in the NPP constitution which bans MPs from openly declaring support for their preferred candidate. Nana Ohene Ntow expressed grave displeasure after it emerged that some MPs graced the campaign launch of the twice defeated presidential hopeful and declared their unflinching support for him. The MPs, according to reports, numbering about 107 claim their action is borne out of mounting pressure from their constituents who claim will not vote in the 2016 general election if Akufo-Addo is not made flagbearer. This, Ohene Ntow also spokesperson for aspiring flagbearer, Alan Kyerematen, believes this violates the party's own guidelines for the upcoming presidential primaries in October 18th. But on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, Simon Osei Mensah subtly suggested the former General Secretary is exhibiting some level of hypocrisy and double standards. He noted that Nana Ohene Ntow as former General Secretary is a delegate thus campaigning for a candidate makes him guilty as charged. The Bosomtwi MP expressed worry about the way some people want to mar an otherwise friendly contest among the same family members. He maintained that as representative of a constituency I have to champion the interest of my people. They tell me no Nana no Vote so I dont have a choice than to back them. Osei Mensah who could not agree more with his constituents said Akufo-Addo is marketed and has the qualities to win power for the NPP in 2016.
