The Chief Executive Officer of Boris B Farms and Veterinary Services, Mr Boris Baidoo says the country�s poultry farmers could produce to feed the entire population if the necessary support is given them. Speaking to GO in an exclusive interview over the weekend after the recently held National Poultry Conference in Accra, the Chief Executive expressed strong positivity about the ability of the local poultry farmers. According to him, the farmers with the right kind of incentives from government could be able to produce to feed the country all year round. This support, he stressed would empower the local farmers to produce more to feed the population the country�s poultry needs. With the limited support so far, the CEO maintained poultry farmers have proven their worth by their ability to produce better and quality birds for the market and consumption. He therefore noted that the support from government would also help prevent the influx of other inferior poultry products from entering the shores of the country since there would be no motivation for the indigenes to go in for other foreign poultry products. Stressing further, the poultry feed expert called for the regular consumption of the local chicken and local eggs. He said local chicken possesses all the essential protein nutrients which are found in poultry. He therefore rallied government and all stakeholders in the poultry industry to consciously invest in the industry. According to Mr Baidoo, the unemployment situation in the country could be drastically reduced if the necessary investments are made into the poultry industry.
