Daily Guide Apologizes To Hannah Bissiw

Daily Guide newspaper has apologised to the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Hannah Bissiw for a section of a story they published in Tuesdays edition of their newspaper. Tuesday, 5th August, 2014 edition of the Daily Guide newspaper published a story about how Dr Hannah Bissiws husband, Dr Francis Kpormego bought her a brand new Toyota Landcruiser Prado, 2014 model, as a birthday gift. According to the publication which was headlined: Money Swine! Toyota landcruiser for Hannah Bissiw Bday, many could not believe their eyes when the husband handed the keys of the vehicle to Hannah; her mood however, did not show that of a person who was surprised at the gift, except to express appreciation to the man with whom she has a set of twins. However, speaking in an interview on Tuesdays edition of Kokrokoo, Dr Hannah Bissiw denied giving birth to twins and asked Madam Gina Blay and her Daily Guide newspaper to bring the other part of the twin because I am having only one. Maybe they did a scan in the spiritual realm when I was pregnant and they realised that I was going to give birth to twins...as for me God gave me one child and even if He gave me twins or triplets, I would have accepted it. Dr Bissiw has already expressed her disappointment in the publishing of the story on the front page of the Daily Guide newspaper. She is of the view that Daily Guide lacks newsworthy issues and that is why they used her surprise car as a banner headline. Responding to the issue on the same platform, Fortune Alimi, Managing Editor of the Daily Guide newspaper apologised for a section of the publication which indicated that Dr Bissiw gave birth to twins. He however maintained that they reserve the right to publish her story because she is a public figure. We made a mistake and we apologise for that slip but she is a public figure and we can publish stories concerning her, he said. Mr. Alimi also asked the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to investigate if Dr Bissiw had paid gift tax on the car as demanded by law. IRS needs to verifywe have not set eyes on her and without her we can still sell our newspaper. However as I said she is a public figure and even about the car; she should be asked if she has paid gift tax on it, he demanded.
