'Unity Will Bring NPP To Power In 2016'

A former Agona West Constituency Chairman of the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Adofo Dwamena, has called on past polling station and constituency executive members of the party to stay united and campaign effectively to enable the party to win the 2016 elections. He stated that such a move would enable the party to rally the needed support to wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). According to him, past polling, constituency, regional and national executive members have wealth of experience they could bring on board to support the partys victory in 2016. He mentioned that the party should focus on reorganisation from the polling station up to the national level and launch an effective campaign towards ensuring victory in the general elections. Mr Adofo, who made the call in an interview with the Daily Graphic at Agona Swedru, said if the party was not united before, during and after the presidential primary, the disunity would cost them power in 2016. He indicated the party leadership at the national level must ensure that the supporters of the presidential aspirants launch campaigns devoid of insults and vituperations so that after the primary, everybody would be willing to campaign for the presidential candidate to win the 2016 general elections. He stressed that the party needed unity to be able to recapture power and that utterances that tended to divide the party should be avoided by all. He added that for the party to easily win the elections, every members vote was needed.
