NDP Dead! ...Executives On Mass Resignation

CREDIBLE INFORMATION reaching the DAILY HERITAGE indicates that the National Democratic Party (NDP) is near total collapse in the Eastern region. Some regional and constituency executives of the party in the region have resigned, while the offices have been closed down due to the party�s failure to pay rent. The DAILY HERITAGE can authoritatively report that the Eastern regional chairman of the party, Osika Wiafe and his secretary, Gideon Ampah have resigned from the party, while some constituency executives have also resigned, with others planning to follow suite. Mr Ampah, former secretary of the party was spotted by the reporter wearing an NPP T-shirt with the inscription, "Volunteers for Akufo-Addo" during a visit by Nana Akufo-Addo, aspiring flagbearer of the party in the Eastern region on Thursday. He told the DAILY HERITAGE that "nothing is running well in the party, when you write letter or call to the national executives they don�t mind you. As I am speaking to you now most of our constituency offices like Akyem Oda constituency office have been shut down because they are unable to pay for rent." He further added that "even rent for regional office is expiring this month and nobody is concerned, meanwhile the landlord is ready to eject us if we fail to renew our rent advance, is this a serious party? He asked. He added that most of the constituency offices are malfunctioning: "they are not able to pay for electricity bill." Mr Ampah stated that this and many more was informed his decision to resign from the NDP and now supports Mr Akufo-Addo. He said he believes that Mr Akufo-Addo has a great vision for Ghana, hence his support.
