Cape Coast Hospital Cuts Meals To Reduce Cost

Patients at the Cape Coast Hospital have expressed dissatisfaction about the decision by authorities of the hospital to reduce meals served them per day. The patients are served twice a day instead of the three times they are used to, due to what the hospital describes as high cost of food stuffs. They say they are given food at 7 am in the morning and 1pm. The patients want the trend reversed since the problem is adversely affecting their health. They have also appealed to government to come to their aid. An administrator of the hospital who spoke on Joy News on condition of anonymity stated that We have reduced the feeding because of high cost of living, the cost of the feeding fee is GHc2.40how can you use 2.40 to give three square meals to patients? Even in the advanced countries, food is a very basic, domestic therapy for curing diseases and therefore the food should be rich but how can you use 2.40 to give three sqaure meals to patients, the Administrator added.
