Hopeson Adorye: Some NPP Leaders Plotting An Injuction On Special Delegates Congress

The Special delegates congress of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) slated for Sunday, August 31, 2014, is likely to meet another setback if the allegation made by Crusaders For Change (CFC) - a body in the party is to be taken seriously. According to one of the leaders of Crusaders For Change, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, information available to them indicates that some leading persons in the New Patriotic Party, including aspirants in the upcoming flagbearership primaries, are plotting to place an injunction on the event. In a statement released by the group which includes Hopeson Adorye; Sylvester Tetteh, Tina Mensah and Baba Tawfik, CFC hinted of a ploy to sabotage the upcoming congress; adding that efforts are being made by two particular aspirants to persuade four other aspirants out of the seven to join them to stop the Special Electoral College from coming on as scheduled on the grounds that they didnt have enough time to campaign. Though the group withheld the names of the two aspirants, they claimed they (two aspirants) have prepared a lawsuit which they want to file within the next 10 days to place an injunction on the Special Electoral College.. Discussing further with the host of Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia programme, Hopeson Adorye said the group has decided to reach out to all NPP members to turn down any offer from some of the party leaders who want to place injunction on the Special Electoral College as such move will risk the partys chance in the 2016 elections. We are notifying and reminding those leaders that if they go ahead to champion this agenda, we will mention their names in public.Ghanaians are suffering, including the NDC members and now the only messiah to rescue Ghanaians is the NPPthese setbacks in the party must end because the various issues in the party have caused the party to lose its focus as a viable opposition party that must put the government in check. We are pleading with all party members that we have suffered enough to allow some greedy leading persons in the party to unnecessarily delay and push our internal elections to next year.those planning this evil about the party will have nothing to lose if we remain in opposition because they have money to feed their families; whatever the ordinary member will feel cannot affect their feelings, he told Okay FM.
