The Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. KofI Wampah, has severely been chastised for setting up measures which has failed to save the cedi from falling further. But a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Mr. Ametor Quame, believes even if government should decide to replace the current governor with the governor of the bank of America or Britain, the story would still be the same. According to him, �if we don�t change the fundamental structure of our economy which is over import dependent and a structurally rigid economy which is export just a few commodities with no few additions; even if we should bring in the governor of the central bank of America or Britain, he would fail�.
