There Is Still Hope - Otiko Djaba

NPP national womens organizer, Otico Afisah Djaba has cautioned all members of the party and the factions to calm down their nerves and settle issues amicably. Madam Djaba has condemned out rightly, the confusion and mayhem at the partys headquarters yesterday. Its unacceptable to flare up and put up the kind of behaviour that we put up. Its not the medias problem to settle for us. There are channels for addressing issues. I will plead with all sides that we should come home and use the right structures to address our issues and differences Otico said theres still hope and has called for unity. She has however criticized the exaggeration in the reports which were churned out yesterday by the media and has advised the media to be circumspect and be accurate with its reportage in order not to inflame passions. All is not lost. Theres hope. We need to come home and talk. Without unity, without understanding, we will not be successful. The reportage was a bit over the top and exaggerated. Speaking on the XYZ Breakfast show with Moro Awudu this morning, she also advised the NPP family to seek redress by using the partys structures. Otico has also termed recent happenings as one of the distractions and believes the new executive body will survive. Lets keep our family matters of NPP in the house and not display it in the media. I believe this is one of the distractions. We shall come out stronger. She moreover noted that grace period is over for new executives and such disruptions are expected. However, the party must work above it and turn the focus back on the NDC as it no dey see top and also realize that winning the elections amidst the failures of the NDC will require hard work. In terms of new executives, what it is that, politics is an arranged marriage. When you come together through delegate voting, you have a blend of a team like this, there are others who also are working very hard to make sure things dont work out among us. Its better to keep tempers down, but we need to jaw jaw and solve them. I believe the honey moon period is over and the activities that have gone on are unfortunate. We were not elected to come and fail. Youre being given the opportunity to do things that will bring you relief. The fact that the NDC no dey see top, IMF is in with a bail-out doesnt mean that its an easy win. We need to work hard. On the issue of whether Perry Okudzetos issue is the cause of all this, Madam Otico Djaba declined to speak about it as she believes much has been said about it.
