Indiscipline, Belligerency and Entrenched Positions...Not Best Form of Dev't Fmr. NPP Veep Aspirant

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Fred Kwaku Amankwah-Sarfo believes despite the tribulation the NPP is facing currently, he is very optimistic unity will soon emerge in the party. He noted that the party leadership must remain calm in these challenging times after admitting that the spate of indiscipline, belligerency and entrenched positions would not be the best form of development for the elephant fraternity. In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Fred Amankwah-Sarfo called on the partys former leader cum president, John Agyekum Kufour [Ex-Prez] to urge the party headship and members persist tranquil and unity. I am pleading with President John Agyekum Kufour; Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, Alan Kyerematen and all those who matter to make sure peace remain in this current turmoil raging in the party. The tension brewing in the party is gradually getting out of hands. It is therefore imperative that no matter what our grievances are, no matter how many obstacles we have regarding the some happening and decisions of any one in the party, resorting to violent conduct and thuggish behaviours would only harm the very party we seek to positively impact on, he said. A press conference by the national executives of the NPP turned bloody fight on Tuesday when some angry party youth stormed the headquarters with machetes. Some supporters of the party who were present sustained various degrees of injuries while a vehicle belonging to the national womens organizer, Otiko Djaba was vandalized, UTVs Prince Ahenkan reported. But the NPP man opined that It saddens my heart that our partys wounds are deepened when we get closer to electing our flagbearer. "This is obviously far from the tenets of the party. The media space in the country would be awash with all the happenings in the party that depict the worst ever to any political party. Failed-to-be NPPs National Vice Chairman Aspirant told Peaccefmonline.com that As the blame games continue, let us know that no member of the party will benefit from this debacle. But most precariously, the entire party members across the country whose votes and support make the party ridicule us. I have always maintained that unless we all accept to conduct ourselves and other members of the society with respect, decorum and circumspection, this party will be very difficult to find relevance in the governance of this country. I humbly appeal to the leadership of the party and all of us to avoid acts and utterances that would send the good name of the party into disrepute. Let us condemn the happenings in the party now and find very amicable resolution to our challenges, he counseled.
