More Gunshots At Bawku

More gunshots were reported on Tuesday night in Bawku, following a similar incidents on Monday night. Security Personnel have been on patrols to forestall further acts of violence around the Bawku township. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Bawku, Chief Superintendent Tefourtor Kaletsi, Bawku Diviosnal Police Commander, said the security personnel were prepared to maintain security to ensure that the situation does not deteriorate. He said two people were shot on Monday and one of the victims, Mutala Mohamed Dinko, a student of the University of Development Studies (UDS) died on Wednesday while the other was still on admission at a hospital in Bawku. He said there was no clear reason for the shootings but investigations were still on ongoing. Narrating how it happened, Chief Superintendent Kaletsi said a group of young men were seated under a tree conversing when the shootings begun. Mr Evans Dinko, Uncle of the deceased, said the family was suspecting a personal vendetta that someone might have tried to settle by hiring a killer to do so. He explained that his nephew was neither involved in politics nor ethnic feuds and so the family could not understand why the killer wanted him dead.
