Agona West NDC Elects New Executives

The Agona West constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected new officers to steer the affairs of the party for four years. Mr. Samuel Mpota, Cocoa Purchasing Clerk at Agona Nkum polled 294 votes to beat the incumbent, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Lincoln who obtained 85 votes, and two other contestants. Mr. Samuel Nana Yeboah, a contractor, polled 294 votes for the position of the Vice Chairman. Mr. Emmanuel Korley, a tutor of Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS), polled 401 votes to beat George Ebo Crentsil, the incumbent, who obtained 73 votes, and Mr. K. Andrews had 27 Votes. Mr. Eric Kofi Apoh, who moved from Youth Organizer position to contest constituency organizer obtained 293 votes to beat Mr. Peter Arthur who polled 205 votes. The Women Organizer position was won by the incumbent Mrs. Evelyn Adu who secured 67 votes to beat Hajia Fati Suley who moved from Deputy Women Organizer to contest for the top position, had 64 votes. Mr. Emmanuel Ayensu, polled 89 votes to beat Patrick Kuma who got 38 votes for the position of Youth Organizer. The position of Treasurer was won by Mr. Twidanba Kwabena Sarpong who obtained 375 votes to beat Alhaji Osumanu Mohammed who had 125 votes. Mr. Emmanuel Addison polled 402 votes to defeat Obed Kwame Osam who obtained 96 votes for the Propaganda Secretary position, while Mr. Aseidu Locasah polled 369 votes to win the Deputy Propaganda Secretary position. Mr. Mpota pledged to work hard for the party to retain the parliamentary. Mr. Samuel Oppong, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Agona West, appealed to party supporters to rally behind the elected executives to ensure victory in the 2016 elections.
