I�m Still In NPP Presidential Race � Dr. Apraku

An aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku has dismissed rumours suggesting he had withdrawn from the party�s presidential candidate race. Dr. Apraku was alleged to have withdrawn from the contesting flagbearership position of the party after complaining of bias and unfair treatment against him by some elders within the NPP The party is organizing a special delegate conference on August 31 to prune down the number of presidential aspirants from seven to five. This is in accordance with Article 12 (5) of the party�s constitution which stipulates that �where there are more than five contestants for nomination as the party�s Presidential candidate, a Special Electoral College shall cast their votes by secret ballot for the first five contestants to be shortlisted.� Dr. Apraku in an interview with Citi News described the claims as ridiculous and insisting that �this is somebody being mischievous. �People are afraid that is why they are orchestrating this. I am in this race and I am winning it.� The former Minister of Trade will be contesting against two-time presidential candidate of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Francis Addai Nimo and Joe Ghartey.
