Prez Mahama Will Fulfil All Promises To Agona East MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agona East Constituency, Mrs Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr, has assured the people of the constituency that President John Mahama was committed to fulfilling all promises made to them. She said the government had the development of deprived communities high on its agenda and would work towards the alleviation of their plight. Mrs Sawyerrs assurance followed the connection of six communities in the Agona East District to the national grid. Beneficiaries The beneficiary communities are Bewadze, Suromanya, Kwesitwikwaa, Asamoakrom, Nyansakyere and Duoto. So far, about 28 communities within the district have been hooked onto the national grid by the government through the efforts of the MP. Fulfilment of social contract Addressing the people at separate durbars, Mrs Pokuah Sawyerr, who is also the Deputy Central Regional Minister, said the provision of electricity was in fulfilment of a social contract President Mahama signed with the people, which she stressed during her campaign in 2012. My role was to remind the President as a way of lobbying for the promises to be fulfilled, the deputy minister said. In appreciation of the development, the beneficiary communities held durbars in honour of the MP to express their gratitude for ensuring the provision of electricity to them, which would propel the progress of the areas.
