NPP Flagbearer Aspirants Need Not Be "Unduly Worried" About Nana Addo If,... Kweku Baako

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be conducting a special congress on Sunday 31st, August 2014 to trim down the number of candidates contesting the flagbearership position from seven to five. The seven candidates namely: two-time presidential candidate, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, former trade minister Alan Kyerematen, former Attorney General Joe Ghartey, former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng, MP for Mampong constituency Francis Addai-Nimoh and Kofi Osei Ameyaw, MP for Asuogyaman constituency are all confident of being among the final five. Already, polls trickling in from NPP branches in some of the foreign countries put Nana Addo ahead of the rest of the candidates. In the United States of America (USA), Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo obtained 96.67% of the valid votes cast to win all the three delegates votes of NPP-USA. The first Runner-up, Mr. Alan Kyerematen obtained 3.33% of the valid votes while the rest of the five other aspirants had zero percent (0%). In China, Nana Addo also won overwhelmingly. In the United Kingdom (UK), Nana Akufo-Addo received an overwhelming endorsement as he polled 92% of the total votes cast, leaving the other six contenders to share the remaining 8% of the votes. Four of the aspirants did not register a single vote. In his analysis, Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has asked the rest of the candidates not to be worried that Nana Addo is leading in all those countries because it was to be expected. He told Kwami Sefa Kayi during Wednesdays edition of Kokrokoo that if the other six candidates have done a very good campaign, there will be no cause for alarm. Looking through my lens I am finding it difficult to see which two will be removedif you have done your campaign effectively, winning will not be a problemstatistically, it is not a big deal that all the figures from the foreign countries are pointing to one direction. It was to be expected. Other competitors should not be unduly worried if they had had a good campaigning season, he stated.
