Gyataba Calls For Ministers Head

UNITED FRONT Party (UFP) Founder and National Chairman, Nana Agyenim Boateng, aka Gyataba, has demanded the immediate sack of the Minister of Education, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman. He is of the view that the minister is not performing as expected of her and this had resulted in several challenges facing the education sector. She must be sacked by the president, he charged. Gyataba, without mincing words, blamed Prof Opoku-Agyemang for being the cause of the numerous strike actions that had hit government tertiary institutions in recent times. He did not understand why the minister watched without concern as groups such as the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG), embark on industrial action which he noted, had had adverse effects on education in the country. Gyataba said the education ministry had suffered a lot under the watch of Prof Opoku-Agyemang, stressing the need for the minister to be sacked to save Ghanas image in that sector. The UFP Founder said, Hon Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is the worst education minister in Ghanas history, he observed, noting that from indications, the minister was not able to defend her ministry at Cabinet level. He again slammed the minister for being incompetent, lamenting that It is her time as minister that the Akropong School for the Blind was closed down due to lack of cash to feed the students. The UFP National Chairman noted that Opoku-Agyemang doesnt have any ideas to transform the education sector and challenged the president to sack her immediately.
