Ongoing Projects Will Be Completed - Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has given an assurance that the government will continue to execute development projects despite the economic challenges. "Despite the economic challenges we are currently facing, the government has not stopped the execution of development projects and we shall continue to perform our duties," he said. President Mahama gave the assurance last Tuesday when he inspected a GH�15.3 million 20-kilometre asphaltic overlay on some selected arterial roads in the Sekondi/ Takoradi Metropolis under phase one of the road projects. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work. Second phase Work on 50 kilometres of similar roads will be executed under the second and third phases of the roads project, at the cost of GH�50 million. The projects, apart from improving the quality of roads, will also save commuters some travel time and facilitate commerce and industry, as well as increase tourism in the metropolis. President Mahama said no project had stalled because of the economic challenges, and stressed that the government would ensure that all the projects under construction were completed on schedule. Ongoing projects The President also said road projects, potable water and electricity supply projects were ongoing in parts of the country, irrespective of the challenges. He added that the government would also continue to award projects to contractors who worked diligently.
