Baffuor Gyan�s �Macho Men� Arrested

The heavily-built men, popularly called �macho men� who were allegedly hired by the brother of Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan to assault a Daily Graphic reporter, Daniel Kenu have been arrested. Speaking to Citi News the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Affail Money, who confirmed the news said the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye led a team to arrest the alleged perpetrators of the act after he was informed about the incident. The brother of Black Stars Captain, Baffour Gyan and Personal Manager of the player, Samuel Anim Addo allegedly led the �macho men� to beat up Daniel Kenu after he asked Asamoah his views about rumours that he [Asamoah Gyan] had used his friend and popular hiplife artiste Castro, for rituals. According to the GJA president, the arrest was predicated on two main principles: �1) that no one is above the law and anyone who finds himself or herself on the wrong side of the law should be made to taste the biting edge of the law and 2) That if any journalists is attacked all are attacked and if one journalist is cut all of them will bleed.� The Ghana Football Association criticized the attack on the journalist and issued an apology to him. Ashanti Regional branch of the GJA has also announced an indefinite boycott of all Black Stars event until because of the incident. The Ashanti Regional branch announced they will boycott all Black Stars-related events until justice is delivered. The older brother of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan ,Baffour Gyan, and the player�s personal manager, Samuel Anim Addo, reportedly wanted to settle the case out of court after the two were granted bail by a Kumasi circuit court. The two, who were charged on two counts of assault, pleaded not guilty and the court presided over by Mr William Boampong admitted them to bail in the sum of GHȻ30,000 with two sureties. The case has been adjourned to Friday September 12, 2014.
