Government has re-echoed its belief in working effectively with traditional authorities, particularly at the grassroot level to address development challenges of the people. Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Ashanti Regional Minister, said the chieftaincy institution and political leadership shared common aspiration as they were all agents of change. The two would therefore complement the efforts of each other in mobilizing resources to improve infrastructure, health, educational and economic needs of the masses. Dr. Sarpong, who was addressing a meeting of the Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Council in the Amansie-West District, said development of the nation was a shared responsibility. The government would as such bring on board all and sundry in decision-making, as well as the implementation of development programmes and policies to benefit the society. The Minister was interacting with the Council as part of his working visit to the District. This was to enable him inspect on-going development projects, interact and also explain government policies to the people. Dr. Sarpong advised the youth to stay clear of violence and avail themselves of programmes designed by government to enhance their living conditions. Nana Nyarko Aboraah, queen of Manso-Nkwanta, asked government to improve the road network in the area to facilitate farming and economic activities.
