Dr. Kwabena Adjeis Wife Fingered In Akropong NDC Confusion

The Wife of the National chairman of the ruling National Democratic Mrs. Comfort Adjei, has been accused of being behind the confusion and violence that characterized the Akropong constituency election of the party. Misunderstanding among the party members erupted when it came out that the candidate of Mrs. Comfort Adjei named as Big Afro lost his bid to become chairman. The newly elected executives were not sworn into office because, Big Afro, protested against his defeat and with the machomen on his side the regional executives led by Tawiah Boateng postponed the swearing in. The regional executives were only able to swear in, the constituency women and youth Organizers. A party member who witnessed the confusion said, Mrs. Comfort Adjei invested a lot of money in the election and all her candidates lost. However the secretary and Vice Chairman who were on her ticket won to delight. She wanted those people she sponsored to win to enhance her parliamentary ambition. Mrs. Comfort Adjei in 2011 lost her bid to become the NDC parliamentary candidate for the 2012 election and was determined to install her people to run the party to make it easy for her in 2016. Aspiring Regional Chairman Tawiah Boateng speaking to the paper, said they were unable to swear the executives in, because Big Afro protested against voting process. He said some delegates who were into present and had also not given permission for anybody to vote on their behalf had voted. The newly elected executives are unhappy with the development and are appealing to party leadership to swear them into office to enable them vote in the upcoming regional and national election.
