26 Ordered To Appear Before JDC

AFTER TAKING a week�s break from its public sittings due to the annual Ghana Bar Conference, the Commission of Inquiry investigating judgment debts will resume sitting today with 26 individuals and representatives of government institutions billed to appear this week. Notable among the list of subpoenaed people are Madam Vida Hlover of the 31st December Movement, Mohammed Hijazi, the chief executive officer of African Automobile Ghana Limited and Nana Amoako Ababio, a chartered surveyor. The commission established by President John Mahama is tasked to enquire into judgment debt payments and other related matters and has the Sole Commissioner, Justice Yaw Apau as its chair. In a statement signed by the public relations officer, George William Dove and copied to the DAILY HERITAGE, the Commission noted that it will sit this week from today September 23, to Thursday September 25, 2014. In its sitting today, the commission is expecting Abena Ansong from Apaaso, a representative from the Attorney General�s Department, Ismael Wilson, (Beposo), a representative from Keta District Assembly, Madam Vida Hlover, 31st December Movement, (Abor), Mohammed Hijazi from African Auto Mobile, Nana Amoako Ababio and Nana Ampong Adjei, (Apaaso). The rest are Nana Kafra, (Ahenkro), Nana Kanya, (Bejamse), Nana Kwabena Akuamoah, (Adjade), Nana Kwesi Poku, (Adele), Nana Omani Kuminte, (Banda Bonwesi), Nana Omani Kuminte, (Grubi), Nana Otupanin III (Kwabena Oduro), (Apaaso) and the Headmaster, (Abor) Senior Secondary School, (Abor) On Wednesday September 24, 2014 Alex Kofi Missah (for Kwadwo Mensah), Ahamandi, Ministry of Local Government, Nana Adusei (for Kwabena Asihene), Ahamandi, Nana Kwesi Osemakwe, Atafie Regina Akua Animah (for Yaa Ayisibea), Ahamandi Stephen Banfo (Atafie Development Fund), Atafie Thursday September 25, 2014 Attorney General Department, Controller & Accountant General Department, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Roads & Highways According to the statement, the invitees are at liberty to appear with their lawyers. The Commission wishes to remind the general public that Public sittings would be held at 10.00 a.m. each day. �Members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are first to report at the Commission�s office to give their statements. The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence. �All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission. All such memoranda will be treated confidentially.�
