LPG Tankers To Storm Atuabo Soon

Not less than 40 fuel tankers are expected to storm Atuabo on daily basis for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) when operations of Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) commence. The tankers are expected to lift the product from the companys base in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region. Sources close to the company disclosed to The Finder that about 70% of LPG currently being imported into the Ghanaian market for local consumption would be absorbed by GNGC when it commences commercial production of gas at the Atuabo gas processing plant. The sources said the first phase of the gas processing plant has been carried out as planned and that the project was only awaiting official commissioning. Consequently, communities along the coastal stretch of Ahanta West District, Ellembelle, and Nzema East Municipality are being sensitised by the authorities to understand the dynamics of the movement of these fuel tankers that would soon be storming the area ahead of the commencement of commercial activities and operations of the GNGC. The movement of LPG trucks in this area would increase tremendously due to the activities of the Ghana Gas and our partners, particularly the Bulk Distribution Companies and fuel tankers who would be lifting LPG from Atuabo to the market centres across the country, and it is important that adequate information is passed to the people, the source added.
