Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has announced that the first floor theatre and recovery ward of the maternity department to enable them carry out some renovation works there. The renovation is part of major efforts by government to retool the hospital under the National Equipment Replacement Project. In a press release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mustapha Salifu, currently, the maternity block is managing with only a single theatre located on the second floor. Management of Korle Bu is however urging health facilities within the country not to refer any case which would require the services of the departments that have been closed down adding �only dire emergencies should be referred until the renovations are completed.� The renovation work is supposed to be completed within a month. They however pleaded with the public to bear with them since the renovation seeks to improve theatre services in the hospital.
