Volta Region Police Grab Two Robbers

Two armed robbers who allegedly attacked two ladies in Ho and in the process stabbed one in the right rib are in the grip of the Volta Regional police command. The two � Richard Ahor (aka Ahorlu), 24, and Destiny Senyo Amedzor (aka Saltco), 19, are said to be part of a gang that has been terrorising and robbing people within the municipality. The two men allegedly robbed their victims of two mobile phones, one galaxy tablet and an unspecified amount of money. Incident Briefing the Daily Graphic on the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Fred Kpetigo, the station officer at the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID), said the robbery incident occurred on September 11, 2014 at about 9:30 p.m, when the victims were on their way home from church. According to the officer, Richard and Destiny attacked the victims with knives at an area called 51 and ordered them to surrender their personal belongings. However, when the two refused to comply, the two men struggled with them and in the process allegedly stabbed one of the victims called Joylyn Aseye Achana in the rib and inflicted injuries on Jovitt Mawunyo Achana the other victim. The two men, afterwards bolted with their booty. The two ladies reportedly shouted for help, which attracted some residents to the scene who rushed them to the Volta Regional Hospital. Arrest of robbers The victims later reported the matter to the police and on September 16, 2014, police investigations led to the arrest of the two men from their hideout. According to the station officer, offensive weapons such as knives and a screw driver were retrieved from them. The two allegedly admitted to committing the crime in their caution statements. They are yet to be put before court on two charges of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
