The National Secretary of the Progressive People�s Party (PPP), Mr Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, has stated that the party is committed to the development of the country even though it is not in government.
For that reason, he said the party had initiated a number of policies, programmes and interventions geared towards the improvement of the life of the people and job creation for the masses.
Mr Asamoah-Siaw made the pronouncement when he presented 10 mercury street bulbs and their fittings to the Oda Constituency secretary of the PPP for installation at vantage points of Oda to brighten the town at night.
He said the gesture was part of the PPP�s social intervention programme to assist the various communities in the country.
Mr Asamoah-Siaw stated that at the national level, the PPP was providing five communities with water projects as part of the party�s second anniversary celebration.
He said the party was in the process of establishing FM radio station at Oda which would be ready early next year to educate the masses on important national issues, as well as the policies and programmes of the PPP.
Mr Asamoah-Siaw called for the election of district chief executives and government appointed assembly members for them to realise the need to serve the nation but not the party in power.
He said a government of the PPP would offer free, compulsory and continuous education from kindergarten to the senior high school (SHS) level.
The Constituency Chairman, Mr Suleiman Saeed, said the PPP had rolled out many programmes in order not to make the party dormant.
