Komla Dumor's 42nd Birthday Marked

Ghanaian organizations and institutions as well as individuals from around the world continue to honor the late Komla Afeke Dumor, BBC broadcast journalist, who tragically passed away on January, 18th, 2014. October 3rd 2014 will mark what would have been his 42nd birthday. With the approval of the Dumor and Allied families of the renowned international journalist; ➢ The African University College of Communication (AUCC) will hold a remembrance ceremony. ➢ Starr FM, a new radio station in Ghana will also name their newsroom after him. ➢ The Metropolitan Chief Executive with support from the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, where the late Dumor�s family home is, will unveil the Komla Dumor Avenue; named in his honor. ➢ National and international social media have also begun issuing tributes to mark his birthday. Komla Dumor gained journalistic prominence during his career with the Multimedia Group, Joy FM Ghana and transitioned to a global platform with the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC as arguably the most recognizable African face in international media. His parents are the late Mrs. Cecilia Dumor, a respected Ghanaian educationist and Professor Ernest Dumor, former National Electoral Commissioner and Founding Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority.
