This is the road to the town where Manasseh Azure Awuni had his primary, JHS and SHS education and still has his family there. This is the road to a place, where NDC has won all parliamentary and presidential elections. When two new constituencies were carved in 2004 and 2012, the NDC won and will always win hands down. Yes. Here, politicians do not need a soothsayer to predict outcome of elections. This is the road to the districts where at least one out of every three tubers of yam you buy comes from. This is the road to the Krachi West District. Krachi Nchumuru District. Kpandai District. Wulensi District. And some parts of the Northern Region. It takes between 12 and 30 hours to travel from Accra to Kete-Krachi, Volta Region. These are verifiable facts. The people of Krachi I speak to, especially the youth, tell me it seems they are only remembered when it is time for elections. And it doesn't seem anything will change until another season of promises arrives in 2016.
