"NPP Delegates Have Made Up Its Mind...Sweet Or Sour Words Can't Change Saturday's Results"

Former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute (DI) has cautioned participants in the upcoming National Delegates Congress of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be distracted by the needless provocation by some followers of the flagbearer aspirants. In the view of Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, delegates of the party have decided on whom to lead the party into election 2016 and no amount of goading by some contestants can sway them. ..My advice to NPP supporters: the party has made up its mind. Alan knows it, A Nimo knows it too. No amount of sweet or sour words can change Saturday. So don't be provoked into responding to things said out there by those whose message isn't getting through to those who matter, he said in a post on his Facebook Wall. This comes barely three days before, what many believe is the second round of elections to seal the fate of the leader and the candidate to contest the 2016 presidential elections on the ticket of the NPP. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, the two-time presidential candidate of the NPP won emphatically at the Super Delegates' Congress of the party, held in August this year. Out of 740 ballots cast, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 598 votes, representing 80.78%, with his closest contender Alan Kyerematen obtaining a paltry tally of 59 votes representing 7.98 per cent. Addai Nimoh and Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joe Ghartey both obtained 22 votes each which is 2.98per cent of total votes cast, while Osei Ameyaw managed 16 votes (2.17%) to pick up the last ticket to the October 18 national delegates conference. The election was to prune down the number of flagbearer aspirants to five who go on to the second stage of the process to choose a presidential candidate for the opposition party but Mr. Otchere-Darko is of the view that delegates must endeavor to Deny them ( Aspirants who provoke them) the oxygen of response and focus on your positive message because Shei Nana!
