Daily Guide Fires Back At Afoko: "You Don't Own The Party...Check Your Leadership Style"

Fortune Alimi, the Editor of the Daily Guide Newspaper has fired back at the Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for driving a member of his staff away from the partys Communication Office. According to Mr. Alimi, the leader and Chairman of the NPP, Paul Afoko must bear in mind he is not the owner of the party and must revise his leadership style rather than chasing out journalists. ..he must know that he does not own the party. Someone was a chairman before he came and he would go after his tenure so what he has to do is to take a second look at his style of leadership and not vent his spleen on Press Men, He said angrily on Okay FM. Peacefmonline.com first broke the news of the incident, minutes after Chairman Afoko, literally threw out Daily Guide's Charles Takyi Boadu from the party's Communication Office on Wednesday morning. His reasons were very simple. Daily Guide has subjected General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong and himself to adverse media attention since they assumed office. According to eye-witness account, Takyi Boadu, in the company of some party activists, was interacting with colleague journalists in the party's Communication Office when the National Chairman strolled in. Mr. Afoko drove the Daily Guide reporter out of the party headquarters after questioning his presence. Adding that, the paper has made him a target for attacks. However, the Editor of the Daily Guide Newspaper is unperturbed by the incident and has vowed that the paper will carry out its role of informing, educating and entertaining without fear or favour.
