Staging 2015 Afcon Could Be Risky - Essien

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has expressed fear about the Ebola outbreak and its possible spread during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. The AC Milan midfielder said going ahead with the continental showpiece in the face of the deadly haemorrhagic fever that has killed over 4000 people mainly in west Africa Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria - will be a risky affair. Speaking to the Milan Channel, the former Chelsea star stated he believes Caf the continents football governing body - will make the right decision. For the Africa Cup of Nations, [I believe] the Caf will take the best course of action, Essien said. It can be risky to go ahead with a tournament of this magnitude with so many people on the move, if you do not take the appropriate measures. He added: But I will repeat myself, the Caf will make the right decision.
