Students Dress Indecently To Attract Lecturers For Grades - Lecturer

A Lecturer and a Dean of student at the Methodist University Collage of Ghana, Mr. Charles Daniel Kwodwo Opoku believes most female tertiary students dress indecently because they want morally bankrupt lecturers to trap for grades. In his estimation, this way of dressing is done mostly by students whose academic performances are nothing to write home about, for this reason adopts diabolic strategies to excel. The Dean is therefore calling for a prescribed code of dressing (not uniform) for tertiary institutions especially the females students across the country. He believes its rather unfortunate that ladies of this generation enjoy dressing indecently, adding that people are not even able to stand by societal principles and do the right thing. According to him, there are countless reasons why students (especially females) dress the way they do on tertiary campuses. He indicated that some of them are not good materials. They got poor grades and are able to get into the tertiary institutions through dubious means. He explained that in order not to fail, they had to entice the lecturers by exposing parts of their bodies through indecent dressing for pass marks. They think they are going to fail, so one way of getting through is to expose what to them is a gift of nature which they can use to get what they dont have. Therefore, they dress in such a way that they can attract especially the main lecturers who are also morally bankrupt. They will give in and for that matter will be able to give them grades which they dont actually deserve, he revealed. His comment follows a statements made by Professor Joshua Alabi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) when UPSA welcomed new students into the institution to offer Diploma, Undergraduate, professional and Masters Programmes in its 7th Matriculation event held over the weekend. The Professor has cautioned students to desist from indecent dressing on campus saying it usually confuses lectures. The Vice Chancellor noted that dressing indecently is a social nuisance, counseling students especially the females to dress decently at all times, since it gives a good impression of their persona. Speaking on Gold Power Drive Thursday, Mr. Charles Daniel Kwodwo Opoku said the Professors judgment on indecent dressing is nothing but reality, adding that this ugly development is eating deep into the fabric of our society. I think that the Professor hit the nail right on the head. It is a fact that indecency in terms of dressing has become the order of the day. This is something which is nauseating, it is not permissible, it is not right and we should look at the way forward to eliminating this cancer from our societies, he cautioned.
