A student of Political Science and History, Dr. David Percy says the Afro barometer survey is an exercise carefully calculated to win New Patriotic Party (NPP) a cheap political point. �Everything about the timing shows clearly that the exercise is purely a political project�, he pointed out. His comment came to rubbish reports that majority of Ghanaians gave ratings of �fairly bad� or �very bad� to government�s management of financial indicators such as the economy which was rated at 72%. Others areas of rating included the improving standards of living of the poor 76%, job creation 76%, keeping prices down 81%, and narrowing gaps between rich and poor 76%. The report further suggested that 82% of Ghanaians say the country is moving in the wrong direction. But speaking on Radio Gold�s Alhaji and Alhaji Saturday, Dr. David Percy reiterated that the report is only suggesting to Ghanaian that things can only get better if NPP comes into power. According to him, every Ghanaian is abreast with the fact that the economy was in difficulty at the time the survey was conducted; hence the report is of no use.
