The domestic violence court yesterday remanded Mr Charles Laryea Thebault, the proprietor of Prince Charles International School at La in Accra, who allegedly defiled an 11-year-old girl who was a pupil of his school.
Mrs Jenifer Anne Myers Ahmed, the presiding judge, remanded the accused into police custody for two weeks to reappear on November 13, 2014 for continuation.
Mr Thebault has, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement that was levelled against him in court yesterday.
According to the facts that were presented by the prosecution to court, the police had information on September 2014 that the accused person had been having sexual intercourse with the victim for some time now in his office at the school premises after school hours and as a result the victim had stopped schooling.
Consequently, the Accra Regional Police Command launched investigation into the matter and contacted the victim.
The victim later confirmed the story and further stated that the accused person started knowing her carnally when she was nine-years-old and he had warned her not to disclose it to anybody otherwise she would die.
The police subsequently took the victim to the police hospital for examination and treatment. According to prosecution, the doctor�s report from the hospital indicated possible repeated penetration.
The accused person was then arrested to assist investigation. The accused denied he was involved with the victim.
