Robber Grabbed For Sexual Assault

Kevin Adjei Frimpong, a suspected robber, who reportedly inserted his finger into the private parts of a woman and her 14-year-old daughter during a robbery exercise, has been grabbed by the police in Kumasi. The victim, a resident of Gyinyasi near Atonsu, who owns a shop at Amakom, spotted the suspect in a taxi which was stuck in traffic in front of her shop and raised an alarm for the arrest of Kevin. The Kumasi police are bent on apprehending two other people who were with Kevin when they allegedly invaded the home of the victim, wielding deadly weapons, including locally made pistols. Addressing the media, Chief Supt. Peter Baba, the Ashanti Regional Crime Officer, said around 3:00 am on August 11, the woman (name withheld) was asleep in her room with her three children at Gyinyasi when all of a sudden, she heard a strange noise at her locked door and so she went to enquire about what was amiss. She was shocked when three men with pistols forcibly broke into the room, according to Chief Supt. Peter Baba. The suspected robbers immediately seized an amount of GH1,600, a wallet belonging to the husband of the woman, containing an unspecified amount of money, a mobile phone, two wrist watches and car keys. The hoodlums, who were not satisfied with their booty, allegedly ordered the fear-stricken woman to surrender her golden ring (wedding ring) else her finger would be chopped off, and so she obliged instantly. Kevin then ordered the woman and her 14-year-old daughter to strip themselves naked, after which he inserted his finger in their private parts in the presence of his two accomplices now at large and the other two children of the lady. He then tried satisfying his libido on the woman and her daughter but the lady and the child purportedly wept bitterly, begging him for mercy. Kevin, who realized that time was not on their side, decided to stop. The crime officer said the woman reported the case to the Asokwa police, adding that on November 3, this year, Kevin was nabbed.
