The Ghana Police Service has announced its readiness to protect members of pressure group Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), who will be hitting the street on Wednesday.
But the Accra Region Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Afua Tenge has cautioned demonstrators to conform to the rules and various traffic directions that will be given by the Police.
�We are going to be there in our numbers to make sure that at the end of the day, we will have a successful and event free demonstration,� she added.
AFAG is scheduled to embark on a demonstration dubbed �Aagbe W)� which literally means �They are killing us.�
The demonstration is to protest the increasing level of corruption and hardship in the country.
According to the Police, the necessary preparations have been made to ensure law and order, for the citizenry to go about their daily economic and social activities without any hindrance.
Early on, AFAG threatened to drag the Police to court for securing a court order aimed at preventing them from demonstrating on November 6.
The Police indicated it will be unable to provide security for the demonstrators due to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) submit which took place in Accra on the same date.
Nonetheless, both parties were able to settle on a new date; November 12.
