Appiah In Contract Talks With Al Khartoum

Former Ghana head coach Kwesi Appiah was expected to arrive at Sudanese side Al Khartoum yesterday Wednesday to inspect facilities at the club and start negotiations to lead the club next season. Ghanas leading football website Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively revealed on Monday that the former Black Stars coach will start talks this week to lead the team in the next season in a bumper cash deal. He left Accra on Tuesday night to arrive in Khartoum by Wednesday, so he would inspect facilities before opening negotiations with club officials. Appiah is seen by the Sudanese giants as the man to steer the club to success following his impressive stint with the Black Stars. His stint with the Black Stars is highlighted by the 2-2 draw against Germany, which is regarded as the best game of the 2014 World Cup. Under the directions of Appiah Ghanas 6-1 thrashing of African giants Egypt as one of the highlights of the history of African football has attracted Khartoum as the man to lead them to success. The Sudanese side decided not to extend the contract of their current Egyptian coach, Hamza Al Gaml, who ended his term last month. Al Khartoum will play in the next edition of the Caf Confederation Cup after ending the last domestic league season in the top four. Appiah parted ways with Ghana as head coach last September, after leading the Black Stars to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
