BNI Arrests Three (3) Over Cocaine Saga

Minister of Communications, Dr. Omani Boamah has revealed that three people haave been arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) in connection with the Heathrow Airport cocaine bust. His comment follows the controversy surrounding the arrest of one Nayele Ametefeh who is currently in the grip of UK authorities for trafficking about 12.5kgs of cocaine. He said the apprehension of the three culprits was made possible by the help a Closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance. �As a result of CCTV surveillance, three people have been arrested by the BNI. This is different from those who were invited�, he revealed on Alhaji and Alhaji. According to the Minister, government is dealing with the issue with all seriousness and rapidity, adding that there is another person who is yet to be arrested by the BNI. �Another person whose name was mentioned by all the three individuals who are arrested is yet to be arrested. That person is been pursued vigorously by the security agencies�, he said. He however challenged the British High Commission that since Nayele Ametefe was arrested in London and is still in their custody, they should come out and tell Ghanaians whether the she was arrested with Diplomatic passport in her hand. �Why has the British High Commission failed or refused to comment on whether the lady was arrested with a diplomatic passport in hand. I cannot understand. Let the British High Commission stand up and be counted. She is in their custody, did she travel to Britain on a diplomatic passport or did she have a diplomatic passport in her possession?� he queried.
