Photos: GPRTU, Fidelity Bank And Latex Foam Join Campaign To Fight Filth

It appears the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Developments decision to initiate a National Sanitation Day exercise, is gradually gaining currency as several companies and unions have willing come out to declare their support for it. Even before the next sanitation day exercise kicks off on 6th December, 2014, the National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, Alhaji Yaw Manu, has issued a directive to all drivers who operate under the union to ban all passengers from littering during journeys. Alhaji Yaw Manu made this known when the minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Julius Debrah, visited the association. In an earlier interaction with the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr. Edward Effah, Hon. Julius Debrah revealed that as part of measures to cut down open defecation, an SME package under the sanitation module is underway, to provide toilet facilities through a loan scheme. This was well accepted by the MD for Fidelity Bank, who promised to do everything within his remit to ensure the campaign to fight filth is sustained and an MOU is expected to be signed during the next exercise. In a separate visit to the office of Latex Foam Rubber Products Ltd, the General Manager, Salem Nahlous announced of their eagerness to join the wealthy course to ensure a clean Ghana.
