2016 Elections Will Not Be Childs Play Koku Anyidoho

A former Presidential spokesperson Koku Anyidoho has predicted a tough time for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections and has urged party delegates to vote him to help the NDC retain power. Mr. Anyidoho, who is now vying to become a Deputy General Secretary of the party, said the 2016 general elections is not going to be childs play and so they need the strong men to come in and do battle. Speaking to Citi News, during the partys vetting of national aspirants, Koku Anyidoho said his past record is proof of what he is capable of doing and pleaded for the delegates to vote him in. Its not about climbing on top of a tree and trumpeting my achievements. They know what I have done in the past and they know what I can do, he remarked. He is contesting the incumbent George Lawson, Kojo Adu Asare, who is the former boss of the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Fund and Timothy Awuntirim. Mr. Anyidoho was of the view that the NDCs Better Ghana Agenda, which was begun by the late President John Mills must be continued by building the better Ghana that we promised Ghanaians. He promised that when elected as Deputy General Secretary, he will work assiduously to ensure we [NDC] put in place the necessary structures and policies that can cushion the poor. Its not about me and what I think; its about what the system stands for and I am a systems person and I believe that once I get in there, the system will work more efficiently, he stressed. Meanwhile, the leadership of the NDC has begun vetting party members who have filed their nominations to contest various national executive positions. The vetting, which commenced on Sunday, will see aspirants contesting the national women and youth organizer positions, including the deputies vetted by the committee. This is all being done in the lead up to the partys national delegates congress scheduled to take place in Kumasi on December 20, 2014.
