Aspiring Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho says his competency is enough to convince delegates to vote for him. According to Mr. Anyidoho, his past record is evidence of what he is capable of doing. �It�s not about climbing on top of a tree and trumpeting my achievements. They (delegates) know what I have done in the past and they know what I can do,� he remarked. The former Presidential Spokesperson is contesting the incumbent George Lawson, the former boss of the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Fund Kojo Adu Asare and former MP for Builsa North, Timothy Awontirim. Speaking on Citi FM, Koku Anyidoho also predicted a tough time for National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections and has urged the party delegates to vote him as Deputy General Secretary to help the NDC retain power. �The 2016 general election is not going to be child�s play and so they need the strong men to come in and do battle.� Mr. Anyidoho was of the view that the NDC�s �Better Ghana Agenda� which begun under the late President John Mills must be continued; the NDC must �build the better Ghana that we promised Ghanaians,� he added. He promised that when elected as Deputy General Secretary, he will work assiduously to ensure �we [NDC] put in place the necessary structures and policies that can cushion the poor.� �It�s not about me and what I think; it�s about what the system stands for and I am a systems person and I believe that once I get in there, the system will work more efficiently,� he stressed. The NDC on Sunday, November 30, begun vetting party members who have filed their nominations to contest various national executive positions at a national delegates� congress scheduled to take place in Kumasi on December 20, 2014.
