Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has called on the President of IMANI Ghana and his Vice to desist from the attempt to pacify �corrupt� media practitioners who feel offended by their comments on �Soli�. To him, it would be better for Franklin Cudjoe and Kofi Bentil to speak for politicians than the defense being put up for journalist because �we (Journalists) are part of the reason this nation is like this�. �Franklin Cudjoe and Kofi Bentil, if you don't have anything to do with your time, go and defend politicians and stop defending journalists. We are part of the reason this nation is like this. We the game keepers have become poachers�. On his Facebook Wall, Manasseh Azure Awuni was of the view that the �soli� would be the least of the worries of the IMANI President if he knew the level of corruption journalists indulge in. �We are not above reproach. And if anyone took time to know about how corrupt journalists are, you won't even mention 'soli'. It is the least of our worries,� he said. His post comes after Fraklin Cudjoe had said sorry to the host of Metro TV�s "Good Evening Ghana" programme, Paul Adom Otchere over allegations that he [Adom Otchere] took �soli� from President Mahama for a well-watched interview. However, Mr. Cudjoe alleged that the interview was �done at such speed that it was out of normal� but was quick to come out with an apology. Nonetheless, Manasseh Azure Awuni is of the opinion that there was no need apologising giving the fact that journalists in the country engage in much bigger proportions of corruption. According to him, there is still some hope as �there are a few decent ones like Bernard Avle of Citi FM. But majority of us are nation wreckers. And I get angry when we play saints�.
