Cracks In NDC As Strategic Thinking Fades...

The strategic thinking, which is the hallmark of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is rapidly eroding and that has paved the way for wide cracks in the party. The party has left its doors ajar, with everybody entering in search of a position, resulting in the emergence of huge internal problems. Hitherto, the NDC would have sat and strategically done things in a way that would ensure party cohesion and limit the level of acrimony. But today, that kind of thinking has faded to such a level that a mere family affair of electing National Executives to lead the party into the 2016 elections is becoming dirty. Interestingly, persons with rich experience in the affairs of the party and national politics are the very people who are not helping matters. The 'Enquirer' is reliably informed that the candidates vying for the position of National Chairman are busily waging a dirty psychological warfare among the grassroots in a bid to win their favour. Almost all of them have sent out emissaries armed with bad and stinking messages about one another. Shockingly, attempts by some party gurus to prevail on some of the candidates to step down in order to have a consensus candidate have failed. At a meeting which was at the behest of the Political Committee, tempers became so high that, apart from Mr. Dan Abodakpi, the other candidates for the chairmanship traded accusations and insults among themselves. What is more disturbing is the growing trend of accusing the Presidency of supporting certain candidates when some of the contenders see that they are not making headways during their campaign tours. Interestingly, some of the things that the contenders are saying and accusing each other of doing are being recorded by the opposition NPP to later use against the party in the run-up to the 2016 elections. NDC insiders are of the view the party should have done things better, following the all-die-be-die manner the New Patriotic Party (NPP) heavyweights threw mud at each other during their search for the partys national executives and the Flagbearer to lead that party in 2016. However, the ugly happenings within the NDC are making things to look as if the party did not learn anything from the wounded elephant party and it is also not ready to use the arsenal it had seized from them towards 2016. Meanwhile, the NPP has given a strong indication that it will use the foul things NDC contenders are saying about one another come the electioneering campaign for the 2016 do.
