Nobody Can Threaten Or Intimidate Me - NDC MP

Embattled Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Hon. Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye has pooh-poohed the attempt by his Eastern Regional Chairman, Mr. Tawiah Boateng to summon him before the disciplinary committee of the party for hauling the NDC before court. The disgruntled MP, has secured a court injunction against the partys upcoming December 20 congress to elect national executives, claiming he was unfairly disqualified from contesting the national organizer position. The failed aspirant is accusing the vetting committee of acting unconstitutionally in his disqualification. "The [vetting] committee told me I have been disqualified...It is untrue that I have voluntarily withdrawn...I have to place an injunction on the congress so that we address the issues," he reportedly told the media. However, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the ruling NDC, Mr. Tawiah Boateng on Okay Fms Ade Akye Abia morning show, threatened to summon the Afram Plains North MP before the disciplinary committee of the party for flouting the partys constitution. According to him, the NDC MP failed to use the appropriate quarters in the party to seek redress of his grievance; adding that going for court injunction on the partys congress is against the partys constitution. But reacting to the issue on the same platform, Hon. Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye said he cannot succumb to any threat from his Eastern Regional chairman as he did not submit his form through the NDC Eastern Regional office but through the partys Headquarters as a Member of Parliament, a Ghanaian and NDC member. I am not someone anybody can threaten or intimidate in NDC. The partys constitution is working as well as the Countrys Constitution. I am only seeking for redress in court for the false and lies stated that I have withdrawn from the contest...I hate threats. The Vetting Committee has every power to state in the report that they asked me to withdraw honorably, but I refused and so they used their powers to disqualify me rather than to say that I have withdrawn from the contest. Nothing prevents them from telling the truth than to lie about what they did to me, there is a criteria for qualification for party office holders and they have to use the constitution and not guidelines to disqualify someone, he stated on Okay Fms morning show.
