NPP Behind NDC MP - Court Injunction?

Many were those in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who took statements by Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he will decide the outcome of the impeding national delegates congress of the ruling party with a pinch of salt. But recent open confession by aspiring National Organizer and Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye, that a philanthropist is supporting him with resources to scuttle the December 20 congress of the ruling party with a court injunction has confirmed Bernard Antwi Bosiakos statement. Not only has Chairman Wontumis threats to determine the outcome of the NDC congress been confirmed by the NDC MPs confessions, some political pundits say the development is an indication that the NPP has infiltrated the ranks of the ruling party. Speaking on Adom Fms Dwaso Nsem, Tuesday, Mr Aboagye Didieye, who has been disqualified from contesting the National Organizer post, openly announced that his decision to seek legal redress to halt the NDC congress was motivated by promise by a prominent philanthropist to foot all the legal bills. As if under spell, the Aflam Plains North NDC MP, who some time back came under severe bashing for describing his colleague male legislators as serial womanizers, stated that aside the financial commitment from the unnamed philanthropist, he was also promised of an astute Kumasi-based opposition lawyer, Obeng Manu to fight the NDC in court. My lawyer is Obeng ManuI filed the suit in Accra. What happened was that when I issued a statement threatening to go to court, a Good Samaritan called me and said if my intension was to go to court and defend the NDC constitution then he will help me pursue the case and also get me a lawyer. Mr Aboagye Didieye secured a court injunction restraining the ruling party from holding its National Delegates Congress to elect new national executive which has been slated for December 20 at the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi. The National Organizer aspirant was cited as one of the six aspirants who withdrew from the race by the partys General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia for failing to satisfy the party with regards to the filling of his nomination form. But in a riposte, the MP alleged that the supposed disqualification was an orchestrated attempt by some kingpins of the party to disqualify him from contesting the National Organizer post which has become a two horse race between the incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan and deputy General Secretary, Kofi Adams. However, some analysts say Mr Aboagye Didieyes statement on those goading him to put a wedge in his own partys congress could have links with recent audacious pronouncement by Chairman Wontumi to manipulate the NDC election and install only his friends as national executives. The NPP Ashanti regional Chairman was recently quoted in the media to have said Only the NDC members that have my support would receive colossal votes from the partys delegates at the congress groundsI know Kumasi very well, it is my city therefore manipulating for my favorites to be elected at the NDC congress will not be a difficult task at all, the NPP chairman disclosed. I have strong interest in the happenings in the NDC. If you want to win elections, you have to know the strength and weaknesses of your opponent.
