In This "Kpa Kpa Kpa" Mahama Economy, Teachers Have To Do "Kpa Kpa Kpa" Movement To Survive

Policy Analyst of the People's National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed, has called on government to rectify the imbalances in Ghana's education system in order to achieve high quality education in all sectors of the country. Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Atik Mohammed urged government to put better mechanisms to motivate teachers in the country, particularly those in rural sectors. According to him, teachers play a vital role in the nation's education system and so, their wellbeing should be top on the priority list of the government. In his conviction, a chunk of teachers are compelled to undertake a "kpa kpa kpa Movement" due to their poor living conditions and the State authorities' failure to adequately pay allowance due them. The teacher will have to look for other ways to survive. If he does not look out for other kpa kpa kpa to fend for himself; this kpa kpa kpa economy, if he does not search for something to support his teaching, he may be disgraced. At the end of the day, teaching becomes a second profession. Meanwhile, ideally that should have been his first choice profession. He therefore appealed to the government to divert their attention to better the lives of teachers in the country.
