Loyalty To NDC: Kofi Adams Has Paid His Dues - Sam George

A member of Governments Communication team, Sam George has defended the loyalty of former President Jerry Rawlingss Spokesperson, Kofi Adams, to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). Adams' loyalty to the party has been a matter of controversy ever since he put himself up for election as National Organiser at the ongoing national delegates congress in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi at the Baba Yara Stadium. Close to 4,000 delegates will be electing national executives, including a national organiser for the next four years. Adams is going against incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan, who has received the blessings and endorsement of incumbent General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia. Nketia recently, publicly endorsed the re-election bid of Boateng Gyan. He has my support, General Mosquito, as Asiedu Nketia is popularly known told Kwadwo Asare Barfuor Accheampong (KABA) on Asempa FMs Ekosii sen political talk show on Thursday December 18, 2014. There is no love lost between Asiedu Nketia and his Deputy General Secretary Kofi Adams, and Mosquito has not hidden his desire for the delegates to elect people who are loyal to the NDC. In a subtle swipe at Adams, he warned party delegates not vote for candidates who wine and dine with opposition members after elections. A voice suspected to be that of Adams was heard on a secret tape unearthed a few years ago, conspiring with opposition elements against President John Mills (late). Adams has, however, always insisted on his innocence and said he never betrayed the party as alleged against him. Asked by KABA if supporting Boateng Gyan meant he does not support Kofi Adams, Asiedu Nketia said he could support only one candidate. However, Sam George told Ultimate Breakfast Show host Prince Minkah at the congress grounds on Saturday that Kofi Adams loyalty to the NDC is unquestionable. If we are talking loyalty to party, what more do you want from Kofi Adams? George asked. Loyalty must be to the party. It must be to the umbrella, and I think Kofi has paid his dues. And I say that if the party thought he wasnt faithful, he wasnt loyal, he should have been disqualified, George argued.
