Only People With Selective Myopia Cant See What We Are Doing - Prez Mahama

President John Mahama has defended his administrations performance, stressing that the "government is steadily delivering, and credibly so, on the mandate it was given by the people of Ghana. The President was speaking Saturday at the 8th National Delegates Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Early on, the General Secretary of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) lashed out at President Mahama and the NDC, accusing them of poor and regressive leadership. Called upon to deliver a solidarity message on behalf of the CPP, Greenstreet seized the opportunity to deliver a stinging criticism of the partys performance in government, which he said had imposed undue hardship on Ghanaians. "We thought you will use a day like this to talk about policies to make lives better; but no -instead you chose today to share your Christmas gifts to yourselves. Instead of you to fight corruption, you have assembled here to share some of the stolen money as Christmas gift. The most obvious thing today is that you don't care," he said. Taking his turn to speak, however, President Mahama rejected assertions that his administration had not done enough to improve the lives of Ghanaians. He said the government was making remarkable achievements which are there to see". Dont let anyone tell you otherwise, he added, noting that only people suffering from selective myopia would not see the good works of the NDC. He listed development projects being undertaken by the government, the Police hospital expansion project, the Wa Regional Hospital project, the 600-bed hospital at the University of Ghana, 500-bed military hospital in Kumasi, 5 Polyclinics in Brong Ahafo Region and various CHPS compounds being constructed in strategic locations across the country. The President went to emphasise that NDC always fulfils its electoral promises, pointing to the establishment of two universities in the Volta and Brong Ahafo Regions, which were constructed during the tenure of the late President John Atta Mills.
